A gathering we stand behind

Barefoot
Circus

Wild · Grounded · Alive

Not quite a retreat, not quite a festival. Three days in the Massachusetts woods with your shoes off, built around the four things everything else is made of.

What kind of space this is

A different way of gathering

Many spaces invite people to let go. Barefoot Circus invites you to come home to your body with clarity, presence, and respect.

Barefoot Circus 2026 · Duxbury, Massachusetts

This gathering was created for those who seek a way to explore aliveness with structure, freedom with safety, and expression held with care.

Wildness, held

Here, movement and expression are guided and paced with intention so everyone can feel safe to arrive, be seen, and unwind.

  • There is no pressure to perform.
  • No requirement to lose yourself.
  • No demand to be anything other than present.

The atmosphere

Barefoot Circus is intentionally held. That means:

  • Clear boundaries
  • Respect for shared space
  • Care for self and others
  • Freedom within structure

This allows aliveness to emerge naturally without chaos.

How it is built

Four elements, three days

The whole weekend is organised around earth, water, fire and air — not as a theme, but as the actual shape of the schedule. You move through all four.

Earth

The slow half. Walking under trees, moving on the ground, sitting in the heat until your shoulders drop.

  • Forest walks
  • Yoga
  • Sauna
  • Presence work

Water

The shock and the recovery. Cold plunges that reset the nervous system, and the play that follows once you have stopped bracing.

  • Cold plunge
  • Water play
  • Renewal

Fire

The loud half, and the brave one. Drums after dark, cacao, and a bed of coals you can walk across or stand beside.

  • Firewalk
  • Cacao ceremony
  • Drum circle

Air

Breath and open sky. Dancing with no choreography, breathing with a facilitator, or a hammock and nothing at all.

  • Breathwork
  • Ecstatic dance
  • Hammocks

The Saturday night firewalk

The centre of the weekend, and entirely optional. A bed of embers, a circle of people, and whatever you decide to do with that.

Their own instruction is the part worth repeating: walk it, witness it, or simply be there.

Where you sleep

Three ways to stay

Food vendors are on site, bringing your own is fine, and Friday opens with a community potluck.

Your own tent

From $369

Carry it in, pitch it where you like. The base ticket, and the way most people do it.

Glamping

From $597

A furnished tent with a raised bed, already standing when you arrive — and coffee brought to the door in the morning.

Cabin for two

$1,998

A full bed, a door that closes, and somewhere to retreat to between sessions. Two cabins exist. That is all.

Who holds it

The origin

Barefoot Circus was created by Christina Oliva, founder of Vitality MedSpa & Wellness Sanctuary. Her presence is felt not through spectacle, but through how the space is held — with intention, pacing, and embodied care.

Barefoot Circus occasionally collaborates with aligned partners and sponsors who share its values of presence, quality, and conscious care.

Why this page exists

We know what a good gathering costs

The Wizard Caravan spends its year at festivals. We have seen the ones that are built for the people who come, and the ones that are built for the ticket. Barefoot Circus is the first kind — small on purpose, held by people who stay up to tend the fire themselves.

It runs on the same thing we do: that a handful of people doing something with real care beats a crowd doing it at scale.

Dates, prices and programme as published by Barefoot Circus — read on barefootcircus.com and their ticket listing on 12 October 2026. The 2027 restival runs from 3pm Friday 20 August to 3pm Sunday 22 August, in Duxbury MA. Tickets and bookings are handled entirely by them.
